Electrotherapy
New Roads Chiropractic Center’s Use of Electrotherapy
Pain gets your attention—and it deserves relief. Electrotherapy is the medical use of electrical currents to reduce pain and promote healing. At New Roads Chiropractic Center, we offer several forms of electrotherapy tailored to your specific needs.
Types of Electrotherapy
Galvanic Therapy
- Uses low or high voltage currents
- Penetrates deeply to reduce inflammation and sedate irritated nerves
- Promotes circulation, decreases muscular inflammation, and lowers pain sensitivity
Interferential Current Therapy
- Works similarly to galvanic therapy
- Two medium-frequency currents intersect to penetrate inflamed tissues with minimal resistance
- Produces a comfortable sensation for the patient
- Targets specific disc levels to reduce pain and muscle spasm
- Typical session length: 10 to 30 minutes
Electrical Stimulating Currents
- Includes therapies like tetanizing current
- Applied to affected back or extremity muscles
- Helps relax spasms and stimulate proper muscle function
Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
- Used to strengthen weak or atrophied muscles
- Commonly applied after injury or surgery
Why Use Electrotherapy?
Whatever the form, electrotherapy is designed to accelerate your healing and manage pain more effectively. It’s a valuable part of your overall chiropractic treatment plan at New Roads Chiropractic Center.
