“Must I exercise?”
“Only exercise if you want to feel
better quicker and prevent pain,“ your New Roads
chiropractic replies.
“How long do I
have to exercise each day?”
“Not long, just properly,” New Roads Chiropractic Center
advises.
Exercise is not every New Roads back pain or neck
pain patient’s ’thing’. New Roads Chiropractic Center understands.
Exercise is also so key to our back and neck pain
patient’s recovery and future prevention of the pain. We are with our New Roads
chiropractic patients all along the way to make
the most of the exercise effort so that it pays off in pain relief and prevention.
OPTIMAL NECK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES
Neck pain sufferers realize how pain
may reduce their neck motion. Such neck pain patients were assessed for
their cervical range of motion and pain intensity with a flexion-rotation test.
They were then instructed to do a 20-minutes cervical spine
exercise session. Half of them were then additionally
treated with manual therapy applied to the C0-C1 and C2-C3 cervical spine
levels. Those who performed the exercise program and were treated did significantly
better in terms of range of motion, pain intensity reduction,
and the flexion-rotation test. (1) Another research project found
that the optimal stretching time of cervical muscles in patients with chronic
myofascial pain syndrome was 30 seconds as contrasted with 15
or 60 seconds or no stretching. This permitted the most
benefit to pain intensity reduction while minimizing
any adverse effects on neural function of the affected
nerve roots and central nervous system. (2) New Roads Chiropractic Center always stresses
that the proper exercise performed in proper form doesn’t have to take long to be useful!
Additionally, exercise places some control in the
hands of its sufferer since exercise can be done whenever.
OPTIMAL LOW BACK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES
Incorporating exercise training into the
multidisciplinary treatment of non-specific chronic low back pain makes
sense. This type of back pain involves so many
people globally and is a leading
source of disability. Proper exercise training transitions the back
pain sufferer to self-management. Recently, researchers proposed
that pain intensity and disability - and even mental health issues
in such back pain patients - were improved with options
like resistance and aerobic exercise while Pilates, resistance exercise, yoga,
and stabilization exercise. (3) New Roads Chiropractic Center agrees! Exercise is invaluable
in so many ways.
